The US President and his daughter showed their support for Louis Vuitton but an artistic director at the luxury brand did not appreciate the gesture. Just days after Ivanka and her father attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a new Louis Vuitton workshop in Texas, they were slammed by the boss.
Nicolas Ghesquière snubbed Ivanka and her father on social media for their lack of LGBTQ support.
He wrote on Instagram: “Standing against any political action. I am a fashion designer refusing this association.”
He added a hashtag which read: “Trump is a joke”.
He then included the hashtag, “homophobia” on the post.
The brand is owned by the LVMH group, which has not commented on the artistic director’s stance.
However, Mr Ghesquière has received a lot of support, including from his work colleague who responded with a trio of applause and heart emojis.
Editor-in-Chief of American LGBT fashion magazine, Out Phillip Picardi also commented on the post.
He wrote: “You better say it!!! Proud of you.”

Another person commented: “BRAVO. Thank you for standing on the right side of history.”
Last week, the founder and chairman of LVMH Bernard Arnault joined Ivanka and her father at the ceremony.
Mr Arnault said: “We are very honoured to have the President of the United States.
“I am not here to judge his types of policies.”

He added: “I have no political role. I am a business person.
“I try to tell him what I think for the success of the economy of the country, and the success of what we are doing.”
Chief executive and chairman of Louis Vuitton Michael Burke commented on the fact that the president also had a campaign rally and fundraiser in the area on the same day of his visit.
Mr Burke said: We have nothing to do with the timing.”
Trump also managed to mispronounce the brand’s name while he was at the brand.
The President also talked about how Mr Arnault and him first met “to discuss my vision for creating an American manufacturing renaissance.”
Trump continued: “Bernard had faith in that vision — the vision of doing something right here in this incredible state — and promised to bring a brand-new factory to the United States.
“And today, wow, has he delivered. He’s really delivered. This is some place.”
Trump also praised Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner.
He said: “What a good job you do.”
