The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the news on its Twitter account on Monday. The tweeted: ”Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? We welcome Queen and Adam Lambert to this year's Oscars!" The band tweeted in response: ”Queen and Adam Lambert will ROCK YOU.”
February 24 is the date of the Oscars ceremony in Hollywood.
Anticipation is growing as the event of the year approaches with Bohemian Rhapsody and Queen fans alike speculating if Rami Malek might join the legends on stage.
Queen superstar Brian May has praised Rami Malek’s portrayal of the late Freddie Mercury after Bohemian Rhapsody stormed the global box office.
The biopic opened to mixed reviews in October.

But, critics were near-unanimous in praising Malek’s portrayal of the legendary frontman.
Now, guitar legend May has lauded praise for Malek’s performance.

The legendary guitarist said: “He’s incredible. Without doubt, he’ll be on the nominations list for an Oscar and well deserved as well.
“He inhabited Freddie to the point where we even started to think of him as Freddie.
“Really remarkable.”
Describing the global reaction to the film, May said: “We’ve lived with this project for nine years and it’s incredible to see it doing so well.
“It came out to s***ty reviews, as some of our work has before, but the public has embraced it magnificently."
