Russia earthquake: Huge 7.4 earthquake ROCKS far-east islands - tsunami alert called off
RUSSIA has been rocked by a colossal magnitude 7.4 earthquake - sparking fears of a tsunami warning for an eye-watering 250 miles.

The tremor hit Russia's far east seconds ago at 8.28pm local time (5.28pm GMT) and struck at a depth of 33km (20miles) in Nickelskooye,District of Kamchatka Krai, Russia, and was initially recorded as a 7.8 magnitude quake.
The earthquake was confirmed by the US Geological Survey (USGS) and a tsunami warning is in place for 250 miles.
Though the warning does not reach Hawaii or Alaska.
It remains unknown if Japan is at risk however.
New Caledonia hit with tsunami warning after earthquake
Residents of the effected area reported the quake’s effects on earthquake-tracking website EMSC-CSEM.
Another said: “I woke up from the rocking.”
They said: “Based on the preliminary earthquake parameters hazardous tsunami waves are possible for coasts located within 300km of the earthquake epicentre.
