Neighbour flushed out
A TENANT is to be booted out of her home of 20 years – for making too much noise when she flushes the toilet.
Mwynwen Jones, 57, was hauled before a court after an angry neighbour kicked up a stink over the bathroom noises.
Neighbour Maureen Jones claimed Mrs Jones, who lived alone, constantly banged doors at her council house in Tremadog, North Wales, and repeatedly flushed the toilet “at all hours of the night”.
On Wednesday a High Court judge ruled the council could lawfully remove her from the £200-a-month terraced house.
Mrs Jones’s barrister Caroline Harris told the court the sounds were “just household noises” and that sound insulation was bad.
But Judge Behrens ruled flushing “may be a nuisance if done repeatedly and at anti-social hours”.
Last night Gwynedd Council said it was acting “as a responsible landlord”.
