WATCH: International amputee match between Holland and Belgium ends in mass brawl
BRAWLS have become an increasingly common sight in football, but never before have such scenes been witnessed during an amputee fixture.
In the first-ever international amputee game between Holland and Belgium at Antwerp over the weekend, and with the game in the balance at 3-3, a pitch invasion ensued after players were aggrieved by a late challenge from a Holland player.
Two players squared up to each other before fans joined in the fracas.
Players then began hitting each other with crutches as event spiralled out of control and the match was filmed by Belgian news channel VTM Nieuws.
Belgian player Marnix Huys tried to take the positives out of the game despite the ugly scenes.
