Mystery of pigs born without snouts
THESE piglets stunned experts after being born without snouts.
Vets thought farmer Fang Liangseng, 50, was telling porkies when he called them in to see the creatures at his farm in Yinken, central China.
But his claims were found to be authentic - and veterinary surgeons now believe the strange deformities are the result of freak genetic mutations or pollution.
Dr Wing Choo of the Jingcheng animal welfare sanctuary said: "Their snouts are actually inside their mouths.
"It is very rare but they seem to be adapting to it."
Farmer Fang told the Austrian Times: "I couldn't believe it when they emerged from their mother.
"But apart from looking a bit strange they are healthy and normal in every other way."
