The UK is bracing for snow as far south as London this weekend as Storm Éowyn batters the north of the country at the same time.

New maps by WXCHARTS have revealed a period of unsettled weather due to arrive on Saturday, bringing snow and rain with it.

The snow will mainly impact Scotland, particularly along the west coast from Cape Wrath to Argyll and Bute, which could see up to 1cm/hr. Localised dustings of around 0.6cm/hr are also due around Edinburgh.

Surprisingly, snow is also forecast in South England, with light rates between 0.2-1cm/hr due in areas such as South London and East Sussex.

Large areas of Norfolk including Norwich and Great Yarmouth are also expected to see snow this Saturday, but this will remain at very low levels - no more than 0.2cm/hr.
