UK weather maps reveal exact date temperatures plummet by 15C hours after 'mini heat bomb'
Wintery weather is well and truly on its way with new UK weather maps showing plummeting temperatures after a small respite from the cold.
Brits are in for weather at both ends of the temperature gauge next week, as balmy midweek conditions are replaced by a weekend chill.
According to weather predictions seen on WX Charts maps, on the afternoon of October 29, temperatures could reach the high teens in places.
However, come the weekend, the lofty mercury will have fallen to -4C in the Scottish Highlands and around zero or low single figures elsewhere.
This variable weather occurs just after the clocks go back on October 27, so when the cold snap arrives, it will really feel like the depths of winter.
However, before that, on Tuesday, 29 October, the temperatures will be perfectly pleasant. It will be as high as 17C in some places in the southeast, while it will be north of 14C across most of England.
Wales, similarly, will see conditions between 13C and 15C - the same in Northern Ireland.
Scotland presents a slightly different picture, with temperatures around 10C in the Highlands but in the low teens in the Central Belt and the Borders.
However, the Highlands will drop below 0 when the weather turns, and frozen conditions may stretch into Cumbria.
The rest of the UK will see temperatures lower than 10C, with most areas—the northwest of England in particular — seeing temperatures below 5C.

Today:
Northern England, Wales, the Midlands and southwest England will enjoy dry and bright conditions. However, it will be cloudy in other areas with occasional rain, which could turn heavy across western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures will reach the mid-teens in sunnier spots.
Tonight:
A diminishing band of rain will travel southeast overnight, while showers will affect northern coastal regions. Under clear skies, temperatures will drop, leading to mist, fog patches and frost in the north.
Sunday:
The south will experience a dry, chilly and bright Sunday. Heavy rain will hit northern regions during the morning, gradually moving south throughout the day and into Monday night.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
The upcoming days will be largely settled but often cloudy. Light rain or drizzle and showers are possible at times, with the best chances of brighter spells in the east.
