Snow forecast: Ice cold blue maps show date UK braced to plunge into -2C Arctic freeze
The UK could see its first taste of winter this weekend as temperatures drop to subzero in some parts.

Britain could be on course for its first taste of snow this Autumn with weather maps showing the country could be hit by a brutal Arctic freeze that would send temperatures plummeting.
The latest maps from WXCharts turn icy blue as a band of freezing air sweeps across the country on November 3, with the potential for snow over higher ground in Scotland that could trigger a collapse in temperatures to just -2C.
The weather map reveals large areas of the UK covered in icy blue tones, signifying the arrival of freezing conditions.
Northern England, Scotland, and parts of Northern Ireland will bear the brunt of the cold snap, while the south will also experience significantly cooler weather.
The chill is set to be driven by Arctic air surrounding the UK at the start of November, suggesting millions of Britons should start bracing for much colder weather.
The Met Office has warned while high pressure will dominate through much of the coming week, bringing mostly dry and settled conditions, temperatures are expected to drop as we head into November.

The long-range forecast indicates high pressure will keep much of the UK calm and settled next week, but with a risk of low cloud, drizzle, and, crucially, frost and fog, particularly in central and southern areas.
The far north and northwest of the UK, however, could see more unsettled weather, with breezier conditions and outbreaks of rain.
Later in the week, colder air could push further south, allowing temperatures to drop across the UK, with snow possible over high ground in Scotland.
The Met Office's long-range forecast for October 29 until November 7 states: "High pressure will dominate through much of next week, bringing widely settled conditions but probably with a fair amount of low cloud, producing spots of rain or drizzle at times.

"There will also be an increased chance of frost and fog, which may be slow to clear in places.
The far north/northwest may experience breezier conditions and some outbreaks of rain at times, and there may be a tendency for this to push a little farther south later in the week, potentially allowing some colder air to filter into parts of Scotland with perhaps some snow over high ground.
"Otherwise, high pressure will tend to dominate for much of the rest of this period across more southern, and perhaps central, areas, with a continuation of drier-than-average conditions likely."
