According to the weather map, the northern regions of Scotland will bear the brunt of the freezing temperatures, with overnight lows potentially hitting -6C in the Highlands.

Further south, cities like Newcastle, Glasgow, and Carlisle will experience near-freezing temperatures, hovering around 0C to 1C.

The cold air mass is forecast to blanket most of the UK, with central and southern England seeing milder temperatures but still dropping to around 3-5C.

London and the southeast could stay slightly warmer, with minimum temperatures of around 7C, but will still feel the chill due to a strong northerly wind.

Daytime highs will struggle to climb above 10C for most of the UK, with many areas staying cold throughout Sunday.

Northeastern parts of the country, particularly in Scotland and Northern England, will see the coldest daytime conditions, while southern parts may experience slightly more moderate conditions but remain significantly colder than average.

The Met Office has already warned of possible frost and icy conditions, especially in more rural areas, which could pose travel challenges.

Residents in northern and central areas are urged to prepare for freezing conditions, with motorists advised to drive carefully due to potential ice forming on roads.
