UK weather maps have revealed the exact date of July's hottest day, and it is just around the corner. Low temperatures, grey skies and consistent rain has left Brits across the country bemoaning the less than scorching summer.

But now, according to forecasters at the Met Office, WX Charts and elsewhere, the mercury is finally about to rise.

This coming Saturday (July 20) will see temperatures pushing past 25C across vast swathes of the UK and the clouds should stay well clear.

Unsurprisingly, it's London and the south-east that is set for the best of the weather, with 27C predicted in the afternoon.

Most of the country, especially eastern areas, will see sweltering conditions

However, the glorious sunshine will spread to others areas too, including East Anglia, the east coast of England, the Midlands, the south coast, as well as southern Scotland and parts of the north-west.

Temperatures will range between 20C in Edinburgh and 26C in Norwich. Manchester should be somewhere in between and Birmingham is expected to see 24C.

Wales, Northern Ireland and the West Country is expected to see cooler conditions, with temperatures between 15C and 18C.
