Depsite it being June people across the UK have toyed with putting their central heating back on and left wondering when we will finally experience some long awaited sun.

Unfortunately, it looks like more inclement weather is closing in as the latest weather front shows Britain is braced for intense downpours across the UK.

Low pressure remains in charge of our weather for the weekend and this weather front tends to bring breezier and more unsettled weather

The Met Office is warning that the showers will bring a risk of thunder and temperatures will still feel rather cool.

Some areas of Scotland will face 3-4mm of rain an hour with the rest of the UK forecasted 0.4-1mm an hour on both Saturday and Sunday.

Even more disappointingly temperatures are forecast to drop a degree or two on Saturday with temperatures set to peak at a miserable 16C.

Sadly it appears the weather may put a dampener on the thousands of royal fans lining the streets for Trooping the Colour this Saturday. Those attending will likely require their waterproofs and an umbrella as showers are forecast during the event.

The event starts at 10am and finishes by 12:25pm. The forecaster predicts that the rain will be falling as early as 9am, and could even start during the procession.

Despite the potentially gloomy weather conditions, King Charles has said he is looking forward to the event.
