Met Office weather warning: UK and London set for weekend of heavy rain and wind
MET OFFICE weather forecasters have released a selection of weather warnings for the UK today, as significant rain and wind marks the beginning of autumn 2021.
UK Weather: Showers and spells of sunshine forecast
Forecasters with the Met Office have predicted a gloomy weekend for some of the UK. Those living in the southeast, especially around the coast, will have to reckon with yellow weather warnings. According to the service, people may experience significant delays due to wind and rain that might dampen their weekend plans.
One yellow warning currently covers most of the southeast coast in a strip from Norwich to Weymouth.
The affected area will see strong winds accompanied by inches of rain over a matter of hours.
The forecast predicts a spell of "strong southerly winds" will affect "some southern and eastern parts of England."
Winds will descend over the weekend, starting from 1pm on Saturday.

The warning - which lasts until 10pm on the same day - predicts winds could reach gale force levels.
Gusts could reach 45 to 55mph generally, up to 65mph on exposed areas of the coast.
Heavy rain will accompany them as an "additional hazard".
Inches of rain could fall over Saturday, as the Met Office predicts between 30 to 40mm (1 to 1.5 inches) in three to six hours.
The Met Office expects fallout will manifest in five different ways this weekend.
Forecasters warned people may expect delays to all transport types, including on roads, in the air, on the rails and water.
High-sided vehicles may also experience trouble on exposed routes, which may also take on sea spray or significant waves that further impact journeys.
People staying at home may find they lose power and other services.
