BBC Weather: Europe forecast cold and wintry conditions
BBC Weather forecast Matt Taylor warned an "icy wintry chill" is set to continue through the week. He said that a new weather front from the west of Europe will bring more heavy rain and heavy snow. This will likely cause travel disruptions and is expected to persist for the next few days.
Mr Taylor said: "Much of Northern Europe remains in a grip of an icy wintry chill.
"That means sub-zero temperatures, added wind chill and some snow.
"There is some pretty heavy snow at the very far north of Germany, the northern parts of Poland and towards the west of Russia.
"There are strong winds blowing that snow around as well and temperatures will be staying below freezing."
