UK weather forecast: Danger to life as Storm Ciara to savage Britain
STORM Ciara is set to batter Britain on Sunday.
The public have been advise to say indoors as 90mph winds and heavy rain are expected with the 1,000 mile wide storm. Power cuts are thought likely as overhead cables come down with severe travel disruption also expected. London Heathrow has agreed with airlines to consolidate flights to minimise disruption.
Virgin Atlantic have cancelled 17.
Other modes of transport are affected too with rail operators advising passengers to avoid travel.
Northern Rail have imposed speed restrictions of 50mph.
Avanti West Coast, London North Eastern and South Western have said Sunday rail tickets will be valid on some Monday services.

The whole of Britain is covered either yellow or amber weather warnings.
Poor weather has been cited as a reason for an expected lower turnout in Ireland’s general election.
Transport Scotland spokesman Douglas Cairns told the BBC: "The Met Office has issued a number of severe weather warnings for this weekend, with Saturday and Sunday bringing the high winds and rain, and with Monday and Tuesday bringing snow as well.
"There's going to be significant disruption to the travelling public so we're asking them to plan ahead, be safe first and foremost, and check before you travel if you really have to travel."
A 40mph speed limit has been put in place on the Queensferry Crossing.
The road bridge carries the M90 across the Firth of Forth between Edinburgh and Fife.
Several bridges have been closed to high-side vehicles.
Ferry services are also expected to take a hit.
