UK weather: Temperatures plummet as Hurricane Dorian to batter Britain next week
BRITAIN can expect to see a decline in temperatures this week ahead of heavy rainfall early next week due to the remnants of Hurricane Dorian.
UK weather: Temperatures to decline as Britain prepares for rain
Hurricane Dorian’s power has devastated the United States east coast but it is now expected to decline into the Atlantic Ocean and make its way towards Britain. Although parts of the UK will remain dry and see pleasant weather over the weekend the temperature fall will be noticeable Saturday evening. Beyond Saturday, heavy rainfall is expected by Monday as a wall of rain strikes the country in Northern Ireland and Scotland before moving south to England and Wales.
Met Office Meteorologist Aidan McGivern explained: “This high pressure is key with our weather going into the weekend.
“It is likely to extend swamping this weather front, making it clear away then a big ridge of high pressure across the country for Saturday and indeed for Sunday.
“So Saturday's weather will be a few showers about and areas of cloud around with a keen breeze especially in the east.
“But many places will be dry and there will be plenty of bright weather about as well.

“Saturday night is going to be a chilly one actually and some places could wake up with a touch of frost on Sunday.
“Temperatures by Sunday day time back into the mid to high 20s and then it turns cloudy again in the midwest as we end the weekend.
“Later Sunday a cold front from the Atlantic starts to move in and that will once again topple in around this area of high pressure for the start of next week.
“It will bring a spell wet weather, early Monday across the northern half of the country and then outbreaks of rain for England and Wales through the day itself.”

Remnants of the storm will bring an increasing wind speed and a decrease in temperature over the weekend.
BBC Weather presenter Matt Taylor said: “Saturday still got northerly winds particularly across eastern parts of Scotland and eastern England.
