Fox News has revealed the specifics of a recent phone call between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping.

On Monday, 24 November, the U.S. president started his day with a significant conversation with the Chinese leader. Fox News interrupted its regular America's Newsroom segment to spotlight the discussion.

Bill Hemmer, the host, passed the show onto Senior Foreign Policy Correspondent Gillian Turner, who offered insights into their dialogue, stating, "They spoke about a whole range of issues. Mostly, the Chinese are touting what they said was tremendous progress since the Busan meeting, which they claim the two have made."

Turner conversed with a Chinese representative who noted, "It's very important that the U.S. get on board with Taiwan reintegrating to become a part of China, something that obviously nobody in the U.S. government is on board with."

Jinping stated that China and the U.S. should unite to "jointly safeguard the victory of World War II."

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs further added, "President Xi outlined China's principled position on the Taiwan question. He underscored that Taiwan's return to China is an integral part of the post-war international order. China and the U.S. fought shoulder to shoulder against fascism and militarism."

Through the Taiwan Relations Act, the United States government is committed to Taiwan's defence, providing the Asian nation with defensive arms and viewing any non-peaceful resolution as "a threat to the peace and security of the Western Pacific area."

Beyond discussing Taiwan's independence, the two world leaders also addressed the Ukraine-Russia conflict and their respective nations' trade systems, topics they had previously discussed face-to-face last month.

During Trump's Asian tour last month, he and his counterpart spent one hour and 40 minutes together in South Korea, concentrating on resolving trade disputes.

Tensions have been elevated between America and China in recent months, particularly after the United States imposed significant tariffs on Chinese goods.

China retaliated to Trump's tariff order by limiting the export of rare earth elements.

Following their meeting, the United States reduced Chinese tariffs to 10 per cent, whilst China lifted its restrictions on rare exports.

Speaking about their agreement to the media, Trump stated, "The facts again show that cooperation benefits both sides while confrontation hurts both."

In their most recent conversation, Jinping told Trump that the relationship between their countries has "generally maintained a steady and positive trajectory" and they should aim for "more positive progress."
