Mother diagnosed with CANCER hopes to celebrate daughter’s FIRST birthday
A MOTHER with cancer hopes to live long enough to celebrate her daughter’s first birthday.
Kate Geraghty and her partner Paul Dhillon
Kate Geraghty, 34, was told she had months at best after discovering a lump on her face two days before giving birth.
Now relatives have launched an appeal to raise £100,000 for treatment in Germany so Kate can prolong her life for more time with partner Paul, 35, and daughter Ivy.
Her JustGiving page received £3,000 in one day and almost £68,000 has been donated so far.
Kate, a teacher, said: “We have been completely overwhelmed with all the donations, love and support from everyone.”

Doctors initially thought that the pea-sized lump was linked to gestational diabetes but when it doubled in growth, tests revealed that she had a rare cancer of the glands that is inoperable.
Kate, of Leicester, added: “The whole of Ivy’s short life has been filled with frequent hospital visits, tests and surgery – not to mention the constant fear and uncertainty whilst also trying to bond with our new baby.”
