Britain will NOT be silenced! Davis to demand UK say on EU laws during 20-month transition
IN a statement to Parliament today, Brexit secretary DAVID Davis will demand a VETO on all EU laws during the 20-month transition period after the UK quits the bloc next year.

Mr Davis, who presented the UK’s formal position to the European Commission yesterday, is currently visiting Greece, but is due to make his case to the UK Parliament today via a written statement.
Politico claimed Mr Davis would be demanding a mechanism to protect the UK from any “harm” caused by new EU rules and regulations introduced during the 20-month transition period.

However, in another development which is likely to raise eyebrows among those pushing for a hard Brexit, the website suggests that he will not formally reject the EU’s demand that all new migrants arriving during the transition period get full freedom of movement rights.

A Whitehall official insisted: “We are not conceding it — but we are also not putting a roadblock in the way at the outset.
“It will be the subject of tough negotiations.”

The question of freedom of movement is likely to be central to Brexit negotiations, with EU officials having signalled that they wish to see European Citizens free to move to and from the UK throughout the transition period which will follow March 29, 2019, the date when Britain will leave.
However, many hardline Brexiteers are frustrated as this prospect as they had wanted to see new immigration controls implemented on that date.
