TODAY’S UK earthquake rocked buildings across Wales and England - and also disrupted a football match.
UK earthquake: A football match in Wales was disrupted by today's quake
South Wales was rocked by an earthquake registering 4.2 magnitude this afternoon, sparking confusion across the UK.
Swansea University was evacuated and shocked witnesses reported buildings shaking and tremors from Cornwall to Liverpool.
Football was also affected, with the match between Port Talbot and Taffs Well forced to temporarily stop play.
The Welsh Division One clash was halted when the earthquake struck, according to the home team’s Twitter account.
Port Talbot intreated live text commentary of the match to bring news of the biggest onshore earthquake in Britain for a decade.
They posted: “43' - temporary stop in play. A recorded earthquake in the area. Incredible.”

The match was later restarted and Port Talbot went on to win 2-1, sparking plenty of delighted puns from their fans.
One said: “Congrats lad! Shaken, not stirred.”
Another said: “Apparently there was an earthquake, I thought it was the 1901 Ultras!”
