Mother and four-year-old boy injured by falling wall in Epsom
A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy and his mother have been rushed to hospital after a part of a building collapsed on them.
Bricks fell on to the pavement below
The masonry fell as the pair strolled along Church Street in Epsom, Surrey just before 1pm today.
One shocked witness said bricks appeared to have tumbled down from the top of a three-storey building in the town, showering the people below in rubble.
He said: “There was a very loud bang.
“There were two people in the rubble as I looked down seconds after, they moved out of the rubble quickly as people assisted them.
“Emergency services arrived incredibly quickly.”
Photos from he scene showed bricks covering the road and a hole in the top of the building.
Police said the pair, along with a man, were injured in the incident in Epsom, Surrey, on Thursday afternoon.
Part of Church Street has been shut and is likely to stay closed to traffic for some time while emergency services clear the area, according to Surrey Police.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene with police officers and firefighters just before 1pm.
It is not yet clear what injuries the mother and boy sustained but they are not thought to be serious, a South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said.
The pair were checked over at the scene and taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting, London.
A man was left with minor leg injuries, police said.
