'Scumbag' thieves steal Poppy Appeal cash from beauty salon
A DISTRAUGHT businesswoman has described how "scumbag" thieves raided a salon and stole a collection tin for the town’s proud Poppy Appeal.
Adela Lenton, salon owner, said there was around £100 in the poppy appeal box which was stolen
Adela Lenton said she was more upset about the theft of the collection tin than she was about the actual damage at Eclipse in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
The salon owner of 18 years arrived at work yesterday morning to be greeted by the sight of shattered glass.
Ms Lenton said: “I am so upset, so angry they have done this.
“I bet there was £100 in there, my clients are very generous, they always support the Poppy Appeal. I am so angry some scumbag has done this.
The thieves smashed through the glass door to gain access to the salon

“They have got in by smashing the glass panel on the front door."
Initially she noticed that her till had been stolen but it was not until later that she spotted that the collection tin had also been taken.
Fortunately her daughter and her dog found the till, which had been emptied, in a field opposite the shop.

Ms Lenton said: “I am not that bothered about the till, I bet it only had a £20 float in it, if that, it is the fact that they have taken the Poppy Appeal collection box."
Warwickshire Police visited the salon yesterday and investigations to find the burglars are ongoing.
Anyone with any information or who heard or saw anything suspicious in the area during the early hours of this morning should call police on 101, quoting incident 86 of October 31.
