MEP Daniel Hannan: We are taking BACK sovereignty from EU
The Tory MEP said Theresa May’s vision for Brexit was clear and the country “wanted its sovereignty”.
Mr Hannan criticised Channel 4 News host Matt Frei who said UK infighting was “confusing” for European Union chiefs.
Frei said: “While we’re busy negotiating with each other, it’s not only confusing to Brussels and the other 27, but also it basically makes us very vulnerable to their bargaining position.”
But Mr Hannan said the Government had issued two white papers setting out in “granular detail” major Brexit negotiating points.

I think our vision is a very clear one, we want to take back our sovereignty
He said: “Well, I keep hearing this but actually we’ve set out two white papers, we set out the original Lancaster House speech and then the Prime Minister’s Florence speech and we set out a number of detailed papers covering in quite granular detail how we can avoid a physical border in Ireland.
“How we can guarantee the rights of EU nationals already here, how we can ensure that as well as a free trade deal, we continue to participate as a friend and ally in other areas.

UK Brexit chief David Davis has rejected claims progress is slow in the divorce talks claiming the negotiations had been “lightning fast” “by EU standards.
The Brexit negotiations have stalled recently as the two sides failed to come to an agreement on issues including the divorce payment and citizens rights.
Speaking to the German newspaper Die Welt, Britain’s Brexit Secretary defended the progress the negotiators had made in the divorce talks.
He said: “As far as we can resolve the issues at stake, we have done a pretty good job of doing it.”
