Hundreds mourn for tragic girl in sledge accident
MORE than 350 mourners gathered yesterday to say farewell to teenager Francesca Anobile killed in a freak sledging accident.
The 16-year-old suffered horrific injuries after her makeshift sledge, built from a Land Rover roof, ran out of control in snow. She ploughed into a fence at 50mph at Rother Valley Country Park, South Yorks, on February 3.
Parents Donato and Joanne, brother Alex, 13, and sister Gabriella, 15, led a moving service at St Mark’s Church, Mosborough, Sheffield.
The family said: “Francesca was an outstanding daughter. She brought a ray of sunlight into what is a dark world.”
