‘He won’t SURVIVE’ Drug driver spared jail after dad yells at judge
A JUDGE changed his mind about imprisoning a man after the boy’s dad shouted at him in court.
Connor Moon, 21, was spared jail after his dad Peter shouted at the judge in court
Connor Moon, 21, from Earl Shilton, Leicester, was due to be locked up after leading police on a chase while he was high on drugs.
But he was spared prison after his dad, Peter Moon, blurted out in court that his son “isn’t capable of surviving jail”.
Peter said: “My son isn’t capable of surviving a jail sentence. Something really bad will happen to him.”
The outburst in Leicester crown court could have led the protective father to have been jailed, as it is not allowed.
But the recorder Robert Spencer-Bernard took a sympathetic view.
He said: “I’m prepared to change my mind.”

Mr Moon had been handed a six month suspended sentence, a curfew, and an 18-month road ban.
The youth was driving a van while high on cannabis and did not have a licence or insurance when he failed to stop for police in February.
The police dubbed the high speed chase “one of the worst an officer had ever seen”.
He admitted to all of the charges against him but still managed to get off with the help of his dad.
Mr Spencer-Bernard said: “You have [your dad] to thank. You’ve escaped immediate custody by the skin of your teeth. It won’t happen again.”
His dad added that he was sure that his son could turn his life around and thanked the judge for his leniency.
