Shopping centre forced to close after PIGEON gets stuck in its roof
A BUSY shopping centre was forced to close over the weekend after a PIGEON got stuck in the roof.
Cambridge's Grand Arcade was closed while fire crews rescued a stranded pigeon
The bird flew into the Grand Arcade in Cambridge where it was discovered swinging by its feet from the ceiling.
Fire crews were called in to rescue it, forcing staff to shut the complex for nearly half an hour.
According to people on Twitter, the distressed pigeon was seen 'flapping' for hours after getting stuck.

One shopper, Carly Richman, said visitors pleaded with management to rescue the bird, which had reportedly been stuck since 8.30am.

She said: "Children are upset. It's causing distress."
Sam Gross wrote: "They shut the Grand Arcade for 20 minutes to rescue a pigeon. A pigeon."
Megan Smith added: "The whole of the Grand Arcade has shut because of a pigeon. This ain't no April Fools, honest..."
The bird was seen flapping for hours in the Arcade, causing children distress
Eventually it was brought down by firefighters who used a cherry picker to reach it.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said it has visited the arcade twice earlier but it had been too busy to use the necessary equipment.
A Grand Arcade spokesman confirmed that the bird had been rescued and is now safely with the RSPCA.
