A NEW poll has revealed that Scottish voters have rejected Nicola Sturgeon’s attempts to torpedo Brexit with another independence referendum.

According to the Panelbase poll of 1,008 Scottish voters 56 per cent do not want independence.
It comes as Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson defended Theresa May’s decision to block a referendum until after Brexit.

Ms Davidson told BBC One’s Andrew Marr Show that Nicola Sturgeon was “hellbent” on destroying the United Kingdom and described Brexit as “this week’s excuse” for another independence referendum.
Ms Davidson said: “The SNP is not Scotland and they are acting against the majority wishes of the people of Scotland.
“There are people right across Scotland, many, many thousands of them, that are so thankful for the Prime Minister to say let’s take a pause on this.”

Speaking on ITV’s Peston on Sunday, Nicola Sturgeon again made it clear that she is determined to scupper Brexit and force the UK to stay in the single market against the majority’s wishes.
Ms Sturgeon said that membership of the single market was the “minimum” that must be secured for Scotland.
