Milngavie fire: Brother in court on murder charge after New Year's Day house fire
A MAN has been charged with murdering his younger brother in a deliberate house blaze in the early hours of New Year's Day

Blair Logan, 26, is accused of killing brother Cameron, 23, at their family home in Milngavie, near Glasgow, on Sunday, January 1. His parents, David and Cathy, were treated for smoke inhalation following the fire, while Cameron's girlfriend, Rebecca Williams was left fighting for her life. The Logan family's dog, Gomez, also perished in the fire.
Logan also faces charges of assault to severe injury, danger to life and attempted murder.
Represented by defence solicitor Jonathan Paul, he did not make any plea or declaration during a short private hearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Simon Pender remanded Logan in custody as he committed the case for further examination with a second court appearance expected next week.
Cameron Logan, a psychology student at Aberdeen University and radio journalist Ms Williams, known as Bex, had been at a Hogmanay party at a friend's house hours.
Mr Logan's parents, David and Cathy, both 54, escaped the burning building, in the town's Achray Place, and were later treated for smoke inhalation. Lawyer, David and a neighbour then braved the flames to dash back into the house and pull Ms Williams to safety but Cameron could not be rescued.

Police Scotland launched a major investigation and made several public appeals in a bid to track down the suspect.
Ms Williams, who works for Capital and Heart Radio was left critically ill in intensive care following the blaze. However, her condition has improved and she is now said to be stable.
Officers visited her at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow last week to talk to her about the moments leading up to the alleged attack..
