Convicted paedophile spared jailed by judge who deemed it SAFER to set him free
A SICK paedophile who admitted downloading hundreds of images of extreme child pornography has been spared jail by a judge who claims it is SAFER to let him roam free.
Self-confessed sex offender Daniel Taylor downloaded horrific images
Self-confessed sex offender Daniel Taylor downloaded horrific images and films of children as young as one being sexually abused.
Taylor, from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, was found with 245 indecent images of children on his laptop when police raided his house.
There were 100 Category A - the most extreme abuse - and 128 Category B images, and seven Category C on his electronic devices.
All but five were videos, and his computers search history revealed he had purposefully sought out the most degrading abuse of both boys and girls.

The 26-year-old admitted getting sexual gratification from watching the abuse.
Andrew Tucker, mitigating, even conceded: “The offences themselves, of course, are horrible in their nature.”
Taylor was also made to sign the sex offenders register for five years
But despite his sick crimes being severe enough to warrant time behind bars, Recorder Christopher Hotten QC bizarrely spared him jail as he thought the public would be “better protected” with him roaming the community.
He said: “But it seems to me the most important thing is to do what can be done to deter you from behaving in this way in the future.

“Although this clearly passes the custody threshold, the public is likely to be better protected by my not sending you to prison today.”
Taylor admitted three charges of making indecent images of children and was handed a three-year community order, made to take part in a three-year treatment programme and ordered to do 60 hours unpaid work.
