A WORLD champion darts player has revealed he is battling cancer.

Martin Adams, otherwise known as Wolfie, told fans he was receiving treatment for prostate cancer.
The 60-year-old three time BDO (British Darts Organisation) darts world champion was diagnosed with the potentially deadly disease in April, and has already undergone a course of chemotherapy.
He said: "I'm waiting for an appointment in November and hopefully that'll be the point the consultant says 'You're doing very well Mr Adams, we'll see you in three months' time'.

"What you don't want to hear is 'Ah, we have a problem'.
"The treatment is very good. Hats off to the oncology and radiography teams.

Following his diagnosis Mr Adams has missed several tournaments over the summer while he was undergoing radiotherapy.
The three-time World Masters champion has continued to play in exhibition, and is retains his number three ranking from the BDO.
After his announcement well-wishers have been have flooding him with messages of support.
The Professional Darts Corporation tweeted: "Upon hearing the news about Martin Adams being treated for Prostate Cancer, we'd like to wish him a speedy recovery!"
