‘ISIS jihadis plotting attack on UK ’ Dawn raids in London foil planned terror attack
TWO men arrested over a suspected ISIS-inspired plot to cause carnage in Britain are brothers, it has emerged.
The men were arrested in West London
The pair – aged 19 and 20 – were held in a dawn raid at their home in west London yesterday by crack counter-terrorism officers.
The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of funding terrorism and failure to disclose information regarding an act of terrorism.
He was also held on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts under a separate probe by the South East Counter Terrorism Unit.
Scotland Yard this morning announced he has been released on bail until early November.
The 19-year-old remains in custody on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.
Police have conducted wide-sale searches of property and vehicles in west and south-east London and in the Thames Valley area.
Ali Esayed, pictured at school several years ago, was arrested in south-east London
A third man, aged 19, was arrested in a separate operation in south-east London on suspicion of a religiously aggravated offence.
Named locally as Ali Esayed, he was arrested at a house he shares with his parents and sister in Kennington, south-east London.
He was also released on bail, until mid-October.
Esayed is said to originally be from Mosul in Iraq.
The current terrorist threat level in Britain is considered severe, meaning that an attack is highly likely.
