A MAN accused of ripping the niqab from the face of a Muslim woman has denied an attack driven by race or religious hate.

Scooter, of Roker, Sunderland, denied causing racially or religiously motivated common assault on the woman when he appeared before Newcastle Crown Court.
He also denied racially-aggravated harassment of the police officer on July 3.
The case, expected to last two days, will be heard in March, and Scotter was released on bail.
