Illegal slum discovered with three bedroom house converted to NINE ROOMS for 15 people
SHOCKED council officers found a slum landlord had converted a three-bedroom house into nine rooms with 15 people living there.
Eleven people were found living in three bedroom house in Dagenham
And during a clampdown on rogue landlords, Barking and Dagenham Council found another three bed property housing 11 people.
Enforcement officers have conducted raids on properties on those living in cramped, squalid conditions in East London.
Both landlords will face legal action following the raids.
The operation found 15 people living in nine rooms in an illegally converted three bedroom house in Lyndhurst Gardens, Barking.

A further 11 people were discovered living in a three bedroom house in Downing Road, Dagenham.

Councillor Laila Butt, the cabinet member for enforcement and community safety and who represents the Abbey ward, said: "This type of overcrowding and squalor is not just happening here in Barking and Dagenham, but all over London.
"It's unacceptable and belongs to Victorian London not the 21st world class city of today."
Barking and Dagenham Council is just one of two councils running a borough-wide private landlord licensing scheme.

Overcrowding is something happening across London with a higher demand for housing
Officers said the properties were not licensed and said they will be looking to prosecute the landlords.
Cllr Butt added: "I can assure residents Barking and Dagenham Council will continue to be remorseless in our campaign to drive out rogue landlords and uphold decent housing standards."
Barking and Dagenham Council said it could not disclose details about the people living there, but said they were all adults.
