Police were called on Saturday morning to the home
A three-month-old baby was admitted to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Saturday and was later transferred to Bristol Children's Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Gloucestershire Police said a 20-year-old woman and 26-year-old man were arrested in connection with the incident in Archdeacon Street, Gloucester.
A spokesman said: "Police were called to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital at 11am on July 30 after concerns were raised for a baby's welfare.

"A baby boy, aged three months old, was brought to the hospital with serious injuries. He now remains in a critical but stable condition at Bristol Children's Hospital.
"We wish to reassure the local community that this is thought to be an isolated and contained incident, with no wider risk to the public."
A neighbour of the sealed off property said: "I knew something was wrong when I saw an ambulance and a paramedic car outside at about 10am.

"Then later there was police blue tape around the front garden and a lot of officers coming and going."
The home, which is a ground floor maisonette close to Gloucester Cathedral, has police tape around the garden and a crime officer has been on duty outside the premises.

Another neighbour said: "I knew nothing about it until I got home at about 6pm yesterday after having a few drinks with friends and saw the police cars outside and the house cordoned off.
"I don't know the couple at all well - just to wave if I see them in the street."
