BREAKING: Tragedy as person hit by train in Somerset city of Bath
A PERSON has been hit by a train just outside Bath Spa railway station in Somerset.
The person was hit by a train near Bath Spa station
Train operator Great Western Railway (GWR) - formerly First Great Western - said the incident happened at 10.30am on Wednesday.
The condition of the person is not currently known.
British Transport Police Bath Spa confirmed they are treating the person at Bath Spa station.
There are lots of people in Brunel Square just outside the station, but the mood is very sombre and quiet, the Bath Chronicle reported.
Services are unable to run via Bath Spa due to a person being hit by a train. Short notice delays/cancellations are likely.

There are no services via Bath Spa, the Somerset city's main train station, the train company said.
A GWR, said: "Services are unable to run via Bath Spa due to a person being hit by a train. Short notice delays/cancellations are likely."
Fire crews are at the scene.
Train delays will run into this afternoon as police investigate the incident.
