Devastated family discover two pet dogs KILLED in arson attack at allotment
A FAMILY has been left "devastated" after two pet dogs and 20 pigeons died in an alleged arson attack.
Cleveland Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the incident
Three vehicles were set on fire at an allotment in South Bank, Middlesbrough in the early hours of Saturday morning, officers said.
The blaze then spread to a nearby shed containing the dogs – a five-year-old husky called Skye and Pippa, a small terrier.
The shed also contained 20 pigeons, which also died.
Three fire crews rushed to the scene to deal with the blaze at South Bank Pigeon Park on Skipper's Lane at 2:38am.

A man has been arrested and Cleveland Police is appealing for witnesses in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said: "The family have been left devastated by this attack.
"A 28-year-old local man has been arrested and is currently being interviewed regarding the incident."
