Migrant accused of murdering two pensioners WILL return to UK for questioning
A MIGRANT accused of murdering two pensioners in Suffolk has lost his battle against being returned to the UK for questioning.
Ali Qazimaj, 42, fled the country after Patrick Stuart, 75, and his wife Sylvia, 69, were reported missing.
Mr Stuart was later found stabbed to death close to his home in Weybread, Suffolk on June 3.
His wife is still missing and presumed dead.
An international arrest warrant was issued after Qazimaj's car was found close to Dover port.
He was arrested last month at a hotel in Luxembourg after being recognised by a member of staff.
A District Court backed an application for his extradition to the UK by Suffolk Police earlier this month.
Today, Luxembourg’s Court of Appeal upheld that decision after Qazimaj challenged the earlier ruling.
The migrant, who lived in Tilbury, Essex, will be handed over to British authorities on Thursday.
In a statement, Suffolk Police said: "Suffolk and Norfolk Constabulary Joint Major Investigation Team is aware of the decision made in Luxembourg and are working with colleagues on the continent to bring him back to the UK in due course.
"He will then be subject to legal process in the UK."
