Jellyfish INVASION on British beach: Could this year beat the 'year of the jelly'?
THESE dramatic pictures show thousands of jellyfish invading a popular tourist beach just days after a whale was washed up at the same spot.
Thousands of jellyfish have washed up on Woolacombe Beach in Cornwall
The huge number of stingers were marooned on Perranporth Beach in Cornwall.
And the sighting has prompted fears of a repeat of last summer’s problems when beaches in popular Devon and Cornwall tourist spots almost had to be closed.
Experts described 2015 as “the year of the jelly” but there are now fears this year could surpass that.
They were spotted by Linda Sadler who was so surprised by the sight she captured this photograph of them covering a stretch of the beach.

It comes just days after a 40ft female sperm whale was washed up at the same location. The cause of the jellyfish stranding is not known.

Meanwhile, last month saw an invasion of jellyfish wash up on Woolacombe beach in Devon.
Helen Orpen, 30, of Braunton, Devon, who is a regular on Woolacombe beach, visited it last week and was shocked.
She took to social media and said: "Did anyone see the jellies on Woolacombe beach? Never seen so many.

Spots that were affected last year included the popular Teignmouth beach in Devon and Watergate Beach in Cornwall.
