Michael Fallon stays on as Defence Secretary in Theresa May's Cabinet
Michael Fallon is to stay on as Defence Secretary in Theresa May's new Cabinet, Downing Street said.
Michael Fallon
The 64-year-old is MP for Sevenoaks in Kent and is a former Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party.
David Cameron appointed him as Defence Secretary in 2014 when he took over from Philip Hammond.
He describes himself as a eurosceptic but chose not to support the Leave campaign ahead of the EU referendum.
He had been tipped as a possible candidate for promotion in Mrs May's Cabinet but she appears to have given her seal of approval to his work at the MoD over the last two years.
