‘Why did no-one have a plan?' QT audience member attacks Government’s Brexit blundering
AN IRATE audience member slammed David Cameron’s Government for failing Britain by not planning for a vote to leave the European Union
Question Time audience member insists Government failed Britain with post-Brexit plan
The young man said that the government had failed to do their job by not preparing for a vote to leave.
He told the Question Time panel, held in Brighton, that the result of the EU referendum was legitimate.
The audience member then attacked the Government for failing to do their duty in the days following the referendum.
The young man said the Government failed to do their job
After the referendum vote was finalised, David Cameron immediately resigned - leaving Britain uncertain over its future direction and leadership.
Two weeks on, questions remain over when Britain will decide to trigger Article 50 and officially start its Brexit negotiations.
On top of this, it may take months for the Conservative Party to elect a new Prime Minister.
The leadership contest with Theresa May and Andrea Leadsom is only set to be concluded on 9th September.
What was Cabinet doing?
The curly-haired man in the audience said: “The question was whether the referendum result was legitimate and the answer is yes.
“The job of Government is to plan for every eventuality and most of them pinned their masts to Remain.
"The only man with a plan was Mark Carney despite him saying it was a massive risk to leave.
"Now why is he the only person to have a plan, what was Cabinet doing?"
He insisted the referendum result was legitimate
Steven Woolfe, an Ukip MEP, agreed with his sentiment on social media.
The Ukip Migration & Financial Affairs Spokesman tweeted: “It's not the job of the leave campaign to implement a plan after Brexit.
“That's the job of the same government that called the referendum.”
One user, named Marlow, slammed the Government for assuming Remain would win and not planning for a Leave vote
They tweeted: “Cameron were so sure their scaremongering would work.”
Another Twitter user, Carl Madigan, also agreed with the audience member.
He said: “They were wrapped up in their London bubble. No idea the rest of the country exists.”
