Dad-in-law quits Tory role after aide’s affair with MP
THE father-in-law of a woman revealed to have been having an affair with a married Tory MP quit his local Conservative Association yesterday.

Phil Bunt is the father-in-law of Sarah Bunt, who earlier this week was named as the married woman involved in an illicit affair with MP Steve Double.
Former church pastor Mr Double, 49, MP for St Austell and Newquay in Cornwall, has been married to wife Anne for 29 years.
They have three children and she has promised to stick by him.
Mr Double has let many people down and shown himself hypocritica
His office aide Mrs Bunt, 26, has been married to her husband Matt for just 18 months.
Matt’s father Phil has now quit as deputy chairman of the local Conservative Association after two years in the role.
He was part of the team that engineered Mr Double’s win at last year’s general election, even helping with canvassing.

He said: “Remaining in a position which by its very nature requires a good working relationship with the local MP would not be something I could do for both personal and ethical reasons.
“Mr Double has let many people down and shown himself hypocritical after getting elected on the basis of being a family man and a Christian."
