Cooper, with his shambling magic act and catchphrase “just like that”, was nominated by friend and fellow comedian Ken Dodd.
Former BBC director general Greg Dyke will dedicate the plaque at the house in Chiswick where Cooper lived with wife Gwen and two children from 1955 until he died aged 63 in 1984.
Cooper used to entertain comics Roy Hudd, Eric Sykes, Jimmy Tarbuck and other friends there.
He is only the 11th comedian to get an English Heritage London Blue Plaque, joining an elite band including Kenneth Williams and Tony Hancock.

Dodd said: “Tommy Cooper was a giant of a man with an equally gigantic sense of humour that was unique to him.
"He belonged to everyone who loved to laugh and was a true comedy legend.”

Mr Dyke, an English Heritage Blue Plaque Panel Member, said: "Tommy was an excellent magician but his greatest trick was to make us believe he wasn’t.
"Our blue plaque pays tribute to a man who made – and still makes – Britain laugh.”
