Man arrested after 'unexplained' soldier's death in town centre
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of a murder after a soldier was found dead in “unexplained” circumstances in a Welsh town.
Police are treating the death of a solider in Brecon as 'unexplained'
The man was found unconscious during the early hours of this morning in a street in Brecon, mid Wales. He was taken to hospital but died soon after.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the man was a soldier and local police said the death was being treated as unexplained.
A 23-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Kirsty Williams, a member of the Welsh Assembly, posted on Twitter: "Clearly very shocking incident unfolding in Brecon town centre this morning. Will be keeping in touch with local police."

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police are investigating the death of a man in Brecon.
"Officers received a report of an unconscious and injured male discovered on Lion Street at around 1am this morning.
"He was conveyed to hospital by ambulance but sadly has since passed away.
"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time and a police investigation is on-going. The scene has been preserved as part of the investigation."

An Army spokesperson said: "We are aware of an incident involving the death of a soldier in Brecon.
"Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
Large areas of the town centre have been sealed off while police investigate.
