Oops! Decorators accidentally paint over adored dinosaur mural
PAINTERS have sparked upset in a British town after they mistakenly painted over a landmark dinosaur mural on the side of a pub.
This landmark dinosaur mural was painted over by decorators
Landlord Jon Evans, of The Oxford pub in Totterdown, Bristol, asked decorators to give the outside of the pub a fresh lick of paint, but did not expect them to go over the 7ft dinosaur with thick white emulsion.
The colourful mural was created on the side of the pub by renowned local artist Andy Council last year.
Thankfully he was not too aggravated, but locals have since expressed their outrage over the mishap.
Mr Council said: “When I heard it had been painted over I thought it was funny because it was an accident and you do come to expect it.”

Bristol residents have already started fundraising to commission the artist to return and repaint the much loved dinosaur.
He is very much missed by the community
Local Rachel Kelly said: "An unfortunate event took place that robbed The Oxford of its amazing Dinosaur painted by Andy Council.
"Our local Totterdown dinosaur was very sadly accidentally painted over this week due to a misunderstanding.
"It was a misunderstanding between the owner of the pub and the painters. Everyone is gutted.
"He is very much missed by the community, so we are raising money to have the artist come back and paint another one."

The campaign has a target of £750, and Bristol residents have already raised £280.
Mr Council hinted that the dinosaur would be “making an appearance again” and he may even delight residents by painting the entire pub.
