14-year-old jailed for brutal assault on pensioner
A PENSIONER who was punched in the face by a 14-year-old girl told yesterday how she has been left “petrified” by the attack.
The 87-year-old, known only as Marion, was lunged at whilst travelling on a bus in London
The 87-year-old, who wishes only to be known as Marion, suffered severe facial bruising and mental trauma after the teenager lunged at her on a bus.
The assault has blighted the pensioner’s life and left her “always looking over her shoulder,” a court was told.
Her moving impact statement was read to a district judge at London’s Croydon Youth Court as he jailed the teenager for four months.
The attack happened in the borough of Croydon, south London
She said: “I enjoyed using the buses with the independence they gave me and I liked talking to the drivers.
Since I was attacked I am now so frightened. It has changed me

“I am now always looking over my shoulder. I am now petrified of bumping into the girl who punched me.”
The girl attacked the pensioner in Croydon, south London, in October.
The girl thug, who cannot be named because of her youth, admitted assault and was given the maximum sentence for her age.
Police apprehended the 14-year-old, who has been jailed for four months for the assault
