Andy Murray’s father-in-law Nigel Sears COLLAPSES at Australian Open match
ANDY Murray's father-in-law Nigel Sears collapsed and has been rushed to hospital during a tennis match at the Australian Open.
Andy went straight to the hospital after his match
Mr Sears works as a coach for tennis star Ana Ivanovic and had been busy watching her play against Madison Keys on Rod Laver Arena when he collapsed.
Andy Murray's brother Jamie said the 58-year-old has been taken to hospital for tests but was "conscious, talking and sitting up".
Play at the arena was suspended for an hour while Mr Sears was carried away on a stretcher.
Ivanovic, the 20th seed, was a set up when the incident occurred and went on to lose 4-6 6-4 6-4 to 15th seed Madison Keys.
The British No.1 himself was unaware of what happened as was busy playing a third-round match with Portugal's Joao Sousa.
He won the game 6-2 3-6 6-2 6-2 against the 32nd seed and was soon whisked away to the hospital.
He cancelled his post-match interviews after hearing the news.

According to Ana Ivanovic's team, Mr Sears had complained of feeling unwell shortly before the match.
Mr Sears' daughter Kim is not in Australia as she is due to give birth to her first child within weeks.
He is in his second spell as coach of Ms Ivanovic, who is the partner of Manchester United footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Murray's father-in-law was also captain of the British Fed Cup team.
A statement by the Australian Open read: "A male in his 50s fell ill in Rod Laver Arena this evening. He was transported to hospital by ambulance.
"The match was suspended and the players updated on his condition. The players had the opportunity to consult with their teams and then went back on court.

The collapse is the second time a match has been interrupted by a medical emergency at one of Ana Ivanovic's Australian Open games.
