Baby food recalled by Cow & Gate after furious mum finds INSECTS inside packet
BABY food manufacturer Cow & Gate has recalled a batch of muesli after furious parents complained that it contained INSECTS.

The company has warned mums and dads that packets of Sunny Start My First Banana Muesli (from 10 months) with a best before date of 27 September 2016 should not be eaten.
The warning comes after mum Alex Bianco said that she had found a spiders web and a maggot inside a bag that she bought from Tesco.
She tweeted: "Just opened a bag of @cowandgate muesli and found a spiders web. Took it back to Tesco and they found a maggot in it."
Any customers who have bought one of the 330g muesli packs can return them to the shop where they were purchased or call Cow & Gate.

A statement on the Food Standards Agency website said: "This product is not suitable for consumption because the presence of foreign bodies such as insect.
"Cow & Gate has recalled the affected batch, notified its customers and displayed point-of-sale recall notices in stores."
A spokesman for Cow & Gate said that no other products are affected by the problem.

He said: "We are very sorry that this has happened and would like to reassure parents that we maintain strict standards at our factory and we are committed to providing the highest quality products," said Cow & Gate.
"We have launched an immediate investigation and we will be taking all necessary steps to prevent this happening again."
