IF you do like to be beside the seaside, then you should be prepared to get a divorce, statistics show.
Divorce rates are at their worst by the seaside
The top 10 places in the UK with the highest rates of divorce have been released - and they are all next to the coast.
Blackpool tops the list, with an unlucky 13.13 per cent divorce rates, while Hastings, Sussex, is second with 12.83.
The research, which was carried out by family law firm Lake Legal, indicates that living by the coast can increase your chances of divorce - which has a current UK-wide rate of 8.2 per cent - by more than half.

Perhaps, after lively summer seasons at the seaside, the sheer boredom of winter on the coast in England drove inhabitants to some form of distraction.
Managing partner Lyn Ayrton said: "While seaside towns can be lovely places to live, they are often areas of high deprivation. Often money problems rather than infidelity lead to behaviour that is then cited as the reason for divorce.
"It is difficult to explain why seaside towns have a much higher divorce rate than inland towns. Perhaps, after lively summer seasons at the seaside, the sheer boredom of winter on the coast in England drove inhabitants to some form of distraction."
