Max Clifford is charged with indecently assaulting a woman
FORMER publicist Max Clifford has been charged with molesting a woman.
Max Clifford will appear at court this month
Clifford, 72, will appear at court later this month accused of indecently assaulting a female over 16 in 1981.
He was arrested as part of Scotland Yard’s multi-million Operation Yewtree in March.
The decision to charge him was announced today in a short statement by the Crown Prosecution Service.
We have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Clifford to be charged
Baljit Ubhey, Chief Crown Prosecutor for London, said: “We have carefully considered the evidence gathered as part of Operation Yewtree in relation to Max Clifford.
“Having completed our review, we have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Clifford to be charged with one offence of indecent assault.”
Clifford was charged today, Scotland Yard said.
He will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on July 21.
