Brave Eileidh, 3, needs £55,000 for a chance to save her life
A SCOTTISH mother is racing against time to raise £100,000 to fly her three-year-old daughter to the US for life-saving treatment.
Brave Eileidh Paterson with her mum Gail
Eileidh Paterson has endured hundreds of gruelling medical procedures in her fight against Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma.
They include chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, radiotherapy, blood transfusions and immunotherapy.
Now mother Gail has just a matter of weeks to find £45,000 after a campaign raised £55,000 so her daughter can receive a trial drug unavailable in the UK.
DFMO acts as a vaccine to stop the cancer coming back, but Eileidh must travel to the Helen De Vos Children’s Hospital in Michigan by mid-July.
Eileidh deserves this chance. She’s fought so hard and she has done it all with a big smile on her face.
Mrs Paterson, 38, from Forres, Morayshire, said: “Eileidh deserves this chance. She’s fought so hard and she has done it all with a big smile on her face.
“But it has to be done within a certain time of her finishing her treatment.
If it isn’t, it just doesn’t happen.” To donate to the appeal, visit the Facebook page Eileidh’s Journey, or www.justgiving.com/EileidhsJourney
